Make a great first impression with your Insta Bio

Creating an interesting Instagram bio that grabs your audience’s attention should be a key priority for all brands and businesses.

This is 150 characters of prime real estate to introduce your brand! 

The best Instagram bio will showcase your brand’s personality, promote your business, and convince people to follow you.

Some tips for crafting the best bio on Instagram:

1️ Use keywords in the name field – Eg – Beautique – Lash Experts Cork

This field is searchable and so is a second opportunity to be discovered by those looking for your services in your area. 

2️ Explain who you are and what you do 

Keep it simple and to the point – we recommend using bullet points as they are easier to read! Separate each service or feature onto different lines (If you are using an iPhone, just tap 123 on the bottom left of the keyboard and then you should be able to tap return on the bottom right to come to a new line).

3️ Target your niche audience by providing a solution to their problem

Do you work primarily with people with acne, or do you work on ageing skin? Share this with your audience so they know you might be able to help them too! For example, “We used medical grade skincare to help clear her breakout and now she exudes confidence. Do you want the same results? DM now for more information”.

4️ Direct people to your website and booking system using the link in your bio.

Make the customer journey as short and as easy as possible. Use a landing page to house all of your links, like Linktree or Liinks.co, or create your own landing page on your website or on Canva.

5️ Provide a way for your followers to get in touch- add a call to action!

Clearly instruct people how they can book with, buy from or contact you! Never share a post without having some kind of purpose or next step clearly laid out for your followers.

Your bio is the first thing your followers and customers see when they land on your page and you have a very short window of time to make a good first impression. Not only that, but your bio link is your only shot to drive traffic to your site!

Remember 80% of customers decide whether or not to buy from you by looking at your Instagram page!!
